Throughout the chapters Pip and Estella spend much time together. Pip loves Estella and is her suitor, once Pip finds out that another man Drummell is also courting her he is very upset. The whole reason Pip is so obsessed with Estella is because he thinks that Miss Havasham was his benefactor, and that it is meant to be. But when he realizes that she is not he has finally sort of given up on Estella in my opinion. This will greatly change Pip and maybe even Estella. What is Pips motivation to be a gentleman now? will he go appologize to Joe? Pip will realize that he spent most of his life to win over a girl that he will never get. And Estella may realize that she cannot keep doing what she does. On page 301 Pip talks about Estella saying "With a cold careless smile that always chilled me." This shows how Pips feelings are starting to change for Estella. He doesnt love her anymore and i feel like Pip will be a more interesting character now because he is able to do what he wants now.

Choice 1.
As Pip continues to go to Miss Havisham's house he wants to become a gentleman even more. Before Pip ever went to her house he was fine with his standing as a common folk. He had no ambitions of ever becoming educated or a gentleman. Once Stella starts making fun of his for being common that is when he is motivated to become a gentleman and win her heart. Estella says "Why, he is a common labouring-boy!" and at this point Pip does admit that she is pretty.
so, as he continues to go to Havisham's he continues to see Estella and he thinks that Estella will like him more the more educated he becomes. And as the book goes on Pips expectations to become a gentleman increases as his opportunity's become more grand.
